Flash Fiction at Kings Theatre, Kawakawa, Sunday 26 June 1.30–4pm
About the event
The event starts with a one-hour workshop on writing flash fiction led by former Flash Frontier editor Sian Williams. This workshop has an entry fee of $10 per person. If you would like to attend, please RSVP Margaret Cahill at firstname.lastname@example.org by Monday 20 June. As the workshop will be only an hour long, Sian has suggested that to get the best value from it, participants prepare a piece of flash in advance to hone during the session.
The workshop is to be followed by a public session (with no fee) opening with afternoon tea from 2.30pm–3pm The Northland Flash Fiction Award will then be presented and the winner will read their entry, after which the audience will be invited to read their flash fiction pieces. Writers can arrange for others to read their pieces, should they prefer. Let Margaret know in advance if you would like someone to read for you. Please invite friends and family to come along and be an audience for your reading.
The Northland Flash Fiction goes to the highest-placed Northland entry in each year’s National Flash Fiction Day.
