Whangarei celebrated with a combined event at The Old Stone Butter Factory bar/restaurant. Mr Nathan said it was Whangarei’s first poetry slam.
This year a new contingent freshened and diversifed the poetry community, with six students from Whangarei Girls’ High School contributing the youngest and most dynamic poetry faction of the night. 12 poets competed to become Slam Winner.
