Please wear comfortable shoes for walking. You may like to pack a pen and notebook for your haiku writing and a picnic lunch.

The modern “Haiku” is based on this traditional form of Japanese poetry. These short poems are a three-line observation about a fleeting moment often involving nature.
The Haiku Hike is an opportunity for anyone of any age to unleash their inner poet. Walkers will be encouraged to thoughtfully observe their surroundings and be inspired by the nature hidden within our city, open their imagination and create their own haiku.

Everyone is welcome to this free event where budding poets and entablished poets can share their love of poetry and our beautiful city. Please contact Storytime 09 438 4406 for more information and wet weather alternative.
